GLOUCESTERSHIRE MOTOR SHOW

After a very successful inaugural event in 2010, the Gloucestershire Motor Show committee needed to make the second annual event equally or more successful.

With only two weeks to go I was asked if I had any suggestions on how boost awareness and attract more attendees with no budget and very little time. This was a perfect opportunity to apply my emerging social media skills to an exciting brand and to see how much of a splash Twitter marketing could make.

I implemented the #GMS0to300 campaign designed to incentivise following, interaction and mentioning ahead of the event. If 300 followers were achieved before the show we would offer discount vouchers to every follower for use at the show. The success of the campaign far surpassed expectations and convinced many that Twitter is very effective marketing platform…myself included!

Notable achievements:  The campaign achieved 200 followers in 48 hours and over the following 12 days we reached over 500 followers, many of which redeemed vouchers at the show.
