I’m really pleased you would like to know more about me… here’s my story in a nut shell.
IN THE BEGINNING THERE WAS IN-HOUSE
I began my career in creative marketing, design and advertising in 2007, working for a leading Gloucestershire law firm. On a steep learning curve, I honed my skills by operating an ‘agency style’ function within an in-house environment. Here I learned valuable project and stakeholder management skills as well as becoming the sole creative output for the firm. Here I learned the complexities of legal marketing and how law firms operate, as well as helping to push campaigns forward. I enjoyed a rewarding and satisfying five years with the firm.
“You have played an important role in getting us this far (shortlisted for an award) – without your design work we would never have got off the starting blocks. So fingers crossed that we are a winner.”
MANAGEMENT, RICKERBYS LLP
In 2013 I moved into a retail-focussed role. Working as a graphic designer, I specialised in product and packaging design for premier UK retailers, often working with world renowned licenses. I also collaborated with the in house marketing team to promote the group of three companies and push their trade ranges.
During this time I was fortunate to work amongst a highly creative team of designers and product developers on client work that I could only have dreamt of previously. I experienced first-hand the pace, nature and scope of work that busy design studios face on a daily basis, and I thrived on it.
Having experienced such satisfaction from previous employment, I felt that 2015 was time to ‘rip the plaster off’ and embark on a new life as a self employed creative designer. I have worked with an interesting mix of clients, from inspiring lifestyle business through to established global non-profit organisations as well as exciting freelance projects for local agencies.
I am always looking for the next challenge and would love the opportunity to work with you.
